Here are two upcoming events that will help make Spring a bit greener for everyone. The upcoming Manhattan Electronics Recycling & Clothing Donation Event on April 22nd and Green Building Products: From Concept to Market, a free event for professionals about the principles of green product design, and strategies for designing and marketing green building products, on April 27th.
Got a computer, PDA, cell phone, TV, printer or scanner that you'd like to get rid of? Want to make sure that the potentially hazardous materials get properly recycled and out of the waste stream. New York City is once again sponsoring an Electronics Recycling & Clothing Donation Event on Sunday April 22, 2007 on the north Plaza of Union Square Park (near 17th Street), from 8 am to 2 pm, rain or shine. We dropped off a bunch of stuff by car at the last one and were able to drive it in by car via the entrance on 16th Street and Union Square West. Via the very green folks at treehugger comes word of a free workshop on April 27th for small businesses called Green Building Products: From Concept to Market sponsored by ITAC. According to treehugger, "It's designed for professionals in the building construction supply chain: those who design, make, and service "green" building materials, contract furniture, carpeting, paints, lighting fixtures and so on. Its purpose is to help them understand the opportunity to design and market products to the growing market for green buildings." Sounds good to me, registration is required.
